  CENTRAL AND EASTERN IOWA

  NORTHWEST AND WEST-CENTRAL ILLINOIS

  NORTHEAST MISSOURI



* EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING FROM 100 PM UNTIL

  800 PM CDT.



* PRIMARY THREATS INCLUDE...

  SCATTERED LARGE HAIL AND ISOLATED VERY LARGE HAIL EVENTS TO 2

    INCHES IN DIAMETER POSSIBLE

  SCATTERED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 70 MPH POSSIBLE

DISCUSSION...TSTMS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN COVERAGE AND

INTENSITY ACROSS THE WATCH AREA THIS AFTERNOON AS THE REGION IS

INFLUENCED BY A MIDLEVEL JET STREAK MOVING INTO THE MID MO VALLEY.

THE COMBINATION OF MODERATE INSTABILITY AND 40-45 KT OF DEEP-LAYER

SHEAR WILL SUPPORT SUPERCELLS AND BOWING STRUCTURES CAPABLE OF LARGE

HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. A TORNADO OR TWO IS ALSO POSSIBLE GIVEN THE

MOIST/LOW LCL BOUNDARY LAYER AND MODESTLY STRONG LOW-LEVEL SHEAR.
