The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Far southeast Kansas

  Southwest Missouri



* Effective this Thursday morning and evening from 1110 AM until

  700 PM CST.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 2.5 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...A cluster of thunderstorms should gradually shift eastward

from southeast Kansas into southwest Missouri through mid-afternoon.

Additional storms will likely form by late afternoon to its

south/southwest.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70

statute miles east and west of a line from 95 miles north northwest

of Springfield MO to 25 miles south southeast of Monett MO. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

2.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 55 knots. A
