The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  South-central and Southeast Texas



* Effective this Monday night and Tuesday morning from 1100 PM

  until 700 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Broken clusters of storms will continue slowly

southeastward overnight, although some clustering and gradual

southeastward-acceleration is possible across

south-central/east-central Texas. Bouts of severe hail and locally

damaging winds will be possible through the pre-dawn hours.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles northwest of

Del Rio TX to 40 miles northeast of Huntsville TX. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
