The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Western Kansas

  Central Nebraska



* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 440 PM

  until 1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A few strong to severe thunderstorms will affect the watch

area late this afternoon and evening.  Locally damaging wind gusts

are the main concern, but hail is also possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles east and west of a line from 30 miles northeast of

Broken Bow NE to 65 miles south southwest of Garden City KS. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
