The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Eastern Colorado

  Western Kansas



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 150 PM until

  900 PM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3

    inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Relatively isolated storms initially will continue to

develop across eastern Colorado including a few supercells. Storms

may eventually merge and cluster later this afternoon into evening

with an increasing damaging wind risk spreading east-southeastward

into western Kansas.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65

statute miles north and south of a line from 45 miles west southwest

of Limon CO to 75 miles south southeast of Goodland KS. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

3 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A

few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean storm motion vector
