The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central and northern Iowa

  Southeastern Minnesota

  Southwestern Wisconsin



* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning from 545

  PM until 200 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Two primary episodes of severe thunderstorms should affect

parts of the watch area into tonight:  1) A widely scattered hail

threat ongoing, and 2) A better-organized complex of convection

moving out of Nebraska this evening with damaging-wind and hail

risk.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 105

statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles south of Des

Moines IA to 70 miles northeast of Mason City IA. For a complete
