The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeastern South Dakota



* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 640 PM

  until 100 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorm development is underway between Aberdeen and

Pierre, and the storms should intensify/persist into this evening.

The storm environment will support a mix of supercells and multicell

clusters capable of producing large hail and damaging winds.  The

storms will likely be slow moving, with a tendency for back-building

toward the southwest.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40

statute miles north and south of a line from 90 miles west southwest

of Aberdeen SD to 55 miles east of Aberdeen SD. For a complete
