The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  northern Maine

  northern New Hampshire

  northeast New York

  northern Vermont



* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 340 PM

  until 1100 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Widely scattered storms will gradually intensify this

afternoon posing a risk for mainly damaging wind gusts and possibly

a tornado or two through early evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles north and south of a line from 50 miles north

northwest of Glens Falls NY to 60 miles north northeast of Bangor

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

tornadoes.
