The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Northeast North Carolina

  Southeast Virginia

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 1240 PM

  until 700 PM EST.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple tornadoes possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Fast-moving thunderstorms over central North Carolina will

track across the watch area this afternoon, posing a risk of

damaging wind gusts as isolated tornadoes.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles

north and south of a line from 15 miles southwest of Raleigh NC to

30 miles east northeast of Elizabeth City NC. For a complete
