The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southern Arkansas

  Northwestern Louisiana



* Effective this Friday night and Saturday morning from 915 PM

  until 300 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Broken bands of thunderstorms will spread northeastward

through the overnight hours across northwest Louisiana into southern

Arkansas.  Damaging winds will be the main severe storm threat,

though an isolated tornado could also occur across northwest

Louisiana with circulations embedded in the bands of storms.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles east southeast

of Shreveport LA to 20 miles northwest of Pine Bluff AR. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
