The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Eastern Colorado

  Western Kansas

  Extreme southwestern Nebraska



* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning from 550

  PM until 100 AM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Severe thunderstorms are expected to continue over eastern

Colorado, and possibly become better organized this evening as they

spread into a more moist air mass over western Kansas to near the

Nebraska border.  Damaging gusts and sporadic large hail are the

main concerns.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65

statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles southwest of

Springfield CO to Mccook NE. For a complete depiction of the watch

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
