The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  West Central Kansas



* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 215 PM until

  1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible

  Widespread large hail and isolated very large hail events to 3

    inches in diameter likely

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to develop over southwest

Kansas and spread northeastward across the watch area this afternoon

and early evening.  Very large hail and a few tornadoes are the

primary threats.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 75 statute miles

east and west of a line from 35 miles east of Liberal KS to 80 miles

north northeast of Dodge City KS. For a complete depiction of the
