The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southeast Colorado

  Southwest Kansas

  Northeast New Mexico

  Oklahoma Panhandle

  Texas Panhandle



* Effective this Saturday afternoon from 430 PM until Midnight

  MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5

    inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...An unstable air mass amidst moist low-level upslope flow

will support some supercells and other severe storms capable of

large hail, locally damaging winds, and possibly a tornado.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles north and south of a line from 65 miles northwest of

Clayton NM to 20 miles east southeast of Liberal KS. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
