The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southwestern Minnesota

  East central South Dakota



* Effective this Sunday morning from 235 AM until 800 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 80

    mph likely

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Developing severe thunderstorms across central South

Dakota will continue to increase in coverage and intensity through

the early morning hours.  The initial supercells will pose a risk

for large hail and damaging winds.  These storms will likely grow

into a larger bowing convective system and spread eastward into

southwestern Minnesota later this morning, with an increasing risk

for damaging winds.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45

statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles west northwest

of Huron SD to 35 miles north northeast of Redwood Falls MN. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
