The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northern and Central Wisconsin



* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 330 PM

  until 1100 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected to develop

along a cold front as it progresses across WI this evening. Large

hail and damaging winds are expected with this activity as it

spreads toward northern Lake MI this evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 90

statute miles either side of a line from 35 miles north northeast of

Rhinelander WI to 50 miles south southwest of Mosinee WI. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
