The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Western Oklahoma

  Northwest Texas



* Effective this Monday afternoon and evening from 440 PM until

  1100 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely



SUMMARY...Scattered thunderstorms have developed over West Texas,

while other storms are likely to form this afternoon across western

Oklahoma.  Conditions are favorable for rather slow-moving intense

storms capable of large hail and damaging winds.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles east northeast

of Alva OK to 55 miles south of Childress TX. For a complete
