The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Extreme Southeast Colorado

  Southwest Kansas

  Oklahoma Panhandle

  West Texas



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 335 PM until

  1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5

    inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Storms are expected to spread eastward from southeast

Colorado and far west Texas through the evening with potential to

produce large hail and damaging wind gusts.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75

statute miles east and west of a line from 65 miles north northwest

of Liberal KS to 55 miles south southeast of Lubbock TX. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
