The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  North-central Minnesota



* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 220 PM until

  800 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 60 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Cluster of strong to isolated severe storms should spread

east across parts of north-central Minnesota this afternoon. Hail

and wind are the primary hazards.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles west northwest

of International Falls MN to 15 miles southeast of Bemidji MN. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

1.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 50 knots. A
