The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Parts of the Concho Valley and Edwards Plateau of Texas



* Effective this Saturday morning from 155 AM until 800 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms will likely increase some in coverage and

intensity through the early morning hours as a storm system moves

eastward from west Texas.  The storm environment across the watch

area will favor the maintenance of isolated supercells, as well as

some upscale growth into clusters, with the potential for isolated

damaging winds and large hail.  An isolated tornado will also be

possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45

statute miles north and south of a line from 70 miles west southwest

of San Angelo TX to 60 miles northeast of Junction TX. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
