The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southwest Iowa

  North-central Kansas

  South-central and Southeast Nebraska



* Effective this Sunday afternoon and evening from 340 PM until

  1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Strong to severe thunderstorms will continue to increase

initially across south-central/southeast Nebraska into western Iowa

along a south/southeastward-sagging front. Other storms may develop

across southwest Nebraska and northwest Kansas and eventually move

into far south-central Nebraska/north-central Kansas. Large hail and

damaging winds are possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55

statute miles north and south of a line from 30 miles east of Omaha

NE to 60 miles southwest of Kearney NE. For a complete depiction of

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
