The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Lower Michigan

  Lake Huron

  Lake Michigan



* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 215 PM until

  1000 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts

    to 75 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...A line of storms will likely continue to organize/expand

and otherwise accelerate east-southeastward across Lower Michigan,

initially across central/far western Lower Michigan early this

afternoon, and then across eastern/southern Lower Michigan by late

afternoon/early evening. Damaging winds are highly likely with the

more intense storms and a tornado cannot be entirely ruled out.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 115

statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles west northwest

of Oscoda MI to 10 miles south southeast of Kalamazoo MI. For a

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
