The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeast Colorado

  Western Nebraska

  Southwest South Dakota



* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 350 PM until

  1100 PM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Initially isolated severe thunderstorms are expected to

develop across the Black Hills vicinity of South Dakota in addition

to other areas farther south across far western Nebraska/Nebraska

Panhandle into northeast Colorado through early evening. Over time,

storms may tend to cluster with an increasing damaging wind

potential as they move east-southeastward this evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75

statute miles east and west of a line from 45 miles northeast of

Rapid City SD to 60 miles southeast of Sidney NE. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
