The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Parts of southwest Alabama

  Western parts of the Florida Panhandle

  Southeast Louisiana

  Southeast Mississippi

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Friday morning and afternoon from 1035 AM until

  400 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...A band of thunderstorms continues moving east across

southeast Louisiana and adjacent southeast Mississippi this morning.

 Embedded stronger storms/bowing clusters will be capable of

producing locally damaging winds and possibly a brief tornado or

two, as risk spreads eastward into the afternoon hours.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles north and south of a line from 25 miles west southwest

of Houma LA to 15 miles north northeast of Pensacola FL. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 55 knots. A few
