The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southern Ohio

  West Virginia



* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 355 PM until

  1000 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...A cluster of strong to severe storms should develop and

move east-southeast across parts of southern Ohio through West

Virginia this evening. Damaging winds from strong wind gusts should

be the primary hazard.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 45

statute miles either side of a line from 45 miles southwest of

Columbus OH to 35 miles south of Elkins WV. For a complete depiction

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

1.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
