The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southeastern Nebraska



* Effective this Friday morning from 150 AM until 500 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75

    mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Organized thunderstorm complex, with a history of measured

severe gusts over nearly every station that it has passed in

south-central NE, is expected to diminish gradually with eastward

extent, but still may produce a few more damaging/severe gusts in

the process.  See SPC mesoscale discussion 385 for meteorological

reasoning.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40

statute miles either side of a line from 35 miles west southwest of

Lincoln NE to 50 miles east southeast of Lincoln NE. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
