The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southwest Iowa

  Central and Northeast Kansas

  Northwest Missouri

  Southeast Nebraska



* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 235 PM until

  1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Scattered thunderstorms are expected to mature and

intensify into the evening hours. Large hail and locally damaging

winds should accompany convection as it spreads east this evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles east and west of a line from 60 miles southwest of

Hutchinson KS to 30 miles north of Shenandoah IA. For a complete
