The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

  Extreme eastern Kansas

Parts of western and central Missouri

* Effective this Tuesday afternoon and evening from 1235 PM until

  900 PM CDT.

SUMMARY...Clusters of thunderstorms have developed recently across

extreme northeastern Kansas, and other storms are spreading eastward

from south central Kansas. The storm environment has become

strongly unstable in advance of these storms, and should promote and

increase in storm coverage and intensity through the afternoon. A

mix of multicell clusters and supercells is expected, the strongest

of which could produce isolated very large hail. Otherwise, the

threat for damaging winds should increase and persist into this

evening.

The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 65

statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles south

southwest of Olathe KS to 60 miles southeast of Knob Noster MO. For

a complete depiction of the watch see the associated watch outline

update (WOUS64 KWNS WOU2).

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
