The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northwestern and north central Minnesota

  Northeastern North Dakota



* Effective this Sunday night and Monday morning from 945 PM

  until 400 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage and

intensity from eastern North Dakota into Minnesota through the

overnight hours.  The storms should mostly be rooted just above the

surface, with the stronger embedded cells or line segments posing a

threat for large hail and/or isolated damaging gusts.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles north and south of a line from 60 miles west southwest

of Grand Forks ND to 85 miles northeast of Bemidji MN. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
