The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Southern, central and eastern Arkansas



* Effective this Saturday morning from 155 AM until 800 AM CST.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple intense tornadoes possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...A band of strong-severe thunderstorms will continue to

pose a sporadic severe-weather threat, including the potential for a

couple tornadoes, as it moves into an air mass that stabilizes

gradually with eastward extent closer to the Mississippi River.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 65 statute miles

east and west of a line from 20 miles west southwest of El Dorado AR

to 20 miles north of Walnut Ridge AR. For a complete depiction of

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch

area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for

threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements

and possible warnings.

watch number 430. Watch number 430 will not be in effect after

surface and aloft to 1 inch. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 450. Mean
