The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central Florida

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Friday afternoon and evening from 135 PM until

  1000 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Squall line will persist through the afternoon/evening and

continue moving eastward across central Florida.  Damaging winds

will be the main concern with the storms in the line, and with any

more discrete storms ahead of the line.  An isolated tornado or two

could occur with circulations in the line in the near term (mainly

through about 20z).



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles northeast of

Daytona Beach FL to 25 miles south of Fort Myers FL. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
