The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southeast Michigan

  Lake Erie



* Effective this Saturday morning and afternoon from 1155 AM

  until 500 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to intensify across southeast

Lower Michigan this afternoon, with the strongest cells posing a

risk of damaging wind gusts and large hail.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40

statute miles north and south of a line from 35 miles west southwest

of Jackson MI to 20 miles south southeast of Mount Clemens MI. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
