The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Western, central and northern Oklahoma

  Northwest Texas and eastern Texas Panhandle



* Effective this Wednesday night and Thursday morning from 630 PM

  until 300 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Gradual development and intensification of thunderstorms

is expected over the next few hours over the western parts of the

watch area, with resulting activity expanding/shifting northeastward

through this evening.  Large hail and damaging gusts are the main

threats, but a tornado cannot be ruled out.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 75

statute miles north and south of a line from 10 miles north

northwest of Childress TX to 45 miles east southeast of Enid OK. For

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.

2 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
