The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  West Central and Southwest Alabama

  Extreme Northwest Florida

  Southeast Louisiana

  Central and Southern Mississippi

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Monday morning and evening from 1120 AM until

  800 PM CST.



* Primary threats include...

  A few tornadoes possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A line of severe storms over western Louisiana will

progress eastward across the Lower Mississippi Valley this

afternoon, while additional strong/severe storms continue developing

ahead of the squall line from southeast Louisiana into southwest

Alabama.  Damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes will be possible

into the evening hours.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 130 statute miles

east and west of a line from 40 miles west northwest of Meridian MS

to 50 miles south of Gulfport MS. For a complete depiction of the

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
