The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  northern Florida

  central and southern Georgia

  central and southern South Carolina

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Wednesday morning and evening from 1100 AM until

  600 PM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple tornadoes possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...An area of thunderstorms now forming across parts of

central and southern Georgia is expected to spread northeastward

across the watch area through this afternoon.  Further

intensification and organization of activity is possible,

accompanied by a risk for damaging wind gusts, some hail and perhaps

a couple of tornadoes.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 100 statute miles

east and west of a line from 30 miles north northwest of Orangeburg

SC to 30 miles southeast of Moultrie GA. For a complete depiction of

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
