The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeast Colorado

  Western Nebraska



* Effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 455 PM until

  1100 PM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are expected to intensify over northeast

Colorado and far western Nebraska this evening, spreading eastward

across the watch area.  Large hail and locally damaging wind gusts

should be the main threats.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles east and west of a line from 20 miles north northeast

of Chadron NE to 40 miles south of Sidney NE. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
