The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Western and Central Arkansas

  Northwest Louisiana

  Southeast Oklahoma

  Northeast Texas



* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 1250 PM

  until 800 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible

  Widespread damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A line of intense thunderstorms is tracking eastward

across eastern Oklahoma toward the watch area.  These storms will

maintain intensity through the day, posing a risk of damaging wind

gusts and a few tornadoes.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 70 statute miles

east and west of a line from 25 miles southwest of Longview TX to 20

miles north of Flippin AR. For a complete depiction of the watch see

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
