The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southern Iowa

  Northeast Kansas

  Northwest Missouri



* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 935 PM

  until 400 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Widespread large hail and scattered very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter likely

  Widespread damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Storms over east-central Kansas will likely persist for

several more hours and track across the watch area.  While an

isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out, the primary risk

appears to be large hail and damaging wind gusts.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70

statute miles east and west of a line from 40 miles east southeast

of Emporia KS to 45 miles northwest of Lamoni IA. For a complete
