The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Extreme northeast Colorado

  Northwest Kansas

  Central and southwest Nebraska



* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 250 PM until

  1000 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2.5

    inches in diameter likely

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely



SUMMARY...Thunderstorm development is likely in the next couple of

hours along a cold front from central Nebraska to northeast Colorado

and northwest Kansas.  The storm environment will initially support

supercells capable of producing isolated very large hail, while

storm mergers could lead to cluster development with a greater

damaging wind threat this evening.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 70

statute miles east and west of a line from 25 miles north northwest

of Broken Bow NE to 45 miles south of Goodland KS. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
