The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeast Kansas

  Southeast Nebraska



* Effective this Wednesday morning from 600 AM until 1000 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...A well-organized cluster of storms will continue to

steadily progress southeastward across the region early this morning

with damaging wind and severe hail potential.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 50

statute miles north and south of a line from 45 miles northwest of

Manhattan KS to 25 miles north northeast of Topeka KS. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
