The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Parts of central, east central and south central Alabama



* Effective this Monday night and Tuesday morning from 945 PM

  until 400 AM CST.



* Primary threats include...

  A few tornadoes possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1 inch in diameter possible



SUMMARY...Bands of thunderstorms will continue to move eastward

overnight along and ahead of a cold front.  The storm environment

will remain favorable for both supercells and bowing segments,

capable of producing a couple of tornadoes and damaging gusts

through the early morning hours.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles

east and west of a line from 10 miles east northeast of Gadsden AL

to 55 miles west southwest of Troy AL. For a complete depiction of

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
