The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Western and central Alabama

  Western Florida Panhandle

  East-central and southeast Mississippi

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Saturday morning and afternoon from 800 AM until

  400 PM CST.



* Primary threats include...

  A few tornadoes likely with a couple intense tornadoes possible

  Widespread damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely



SUMMARY...An extensive squall line will progress quickly east from

southeast Louisiana and central Mississippi into Alabama. A few

supercells may also form ahead of the line this afternoon. Damaging

winds and tornadoes are the expected hazards.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 90 statute miles

east and west of a line from 20 miles north of Tuscaloosa AL to 45

miles southeast of Gulfport MS. For a complete depiction of the
