The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeastern Arkansas

  Extreme southwestern Kentucky

  Extreme southeastern Missouri

  Extreme northern Mississippi

  Western Tennessee



* Effective this Saturday morning from 420 AM until NOON CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Clusters of severe thunderstorms -- both ongoing activity

over the Ozarks moving into the watch area and later development in

northeastern Arkansas and western Tennessee -- will pose a risk of

damaging wind and sporadic hail the remainder of this morning.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles north and south of a line from 20 miles west northwest

of Walnut Ridge AR to 45 miles east of Jackson TN. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
