The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Eastern Oklahoma



* Effective this Monday night and Tuesday morning from 840 PM

  until 300 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts

    to 75 mph possible

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...An increasingly organized convective system will continue

to steadily progress southeastward toward additional parts of

eastern and southern Oklahoma through late evening and early in the

overnight. Damaging wind gusts will be the most prevalent severe

risk.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles north northeast

of Tulsa OK to 15 miles west southwest of Durant OK. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
