The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Southern Louisiana

  Far southeast Texas

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Monday from 1215 PM until Midnight CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple tornadoes possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible



SUMMARY...A risk for brief tornadoes and locally damaging winds will

persist through this evening with multiple bands of storms

associated with Tropical Cyclone Harvey.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles

north and south of a line from 30 miles south southwest of Port

Arthur TX to 35 miles east southeast of New Orleans LA. For a

REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch

area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for

threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements

and possible warnings.

watch number 473. Watch number 473 will not be in effect after

1215 PM CDT.



AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail

surface and aloft to 0.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

gusts to 55 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean

storm motion vector 23020.
