The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southeastern Colorado

  Southwestern Kansas



* Effective this Sunday night and Monday morning from 700 PM

  until 100 AM MDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds and isolated significant gusts to 75

    mph likely

  Scattered large hail likely with isolated very large hail events

    to 2 inches in diameter possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Supercells have begun to consolidate into a small storm

cluster that will likely grow upscale some during the next few hours

while continuing to move south-southeastward.  Damaging winds will

be likely with this cluster, while the stronger embedded supercells

could produce large hail and perhaps an isolated tornado in the

short term.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 95

statute miles east and west of a line from 35 miles north northeast

of Lamar CO to 15 miles west southwest of Liberal KS. For a complete

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
