The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northwest Iowa

  Northeast Nebraska

  Southeast South Dakota



* Effective this Wednesday morning from 450 AM until 1000 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts

    to 75 mph possible

  Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible



SUMMARY...A fast-moving bowing line of thunderstorms over southeast

South Dakota will track across the watch area this morning, posing a

risk of damaging winds and hail.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40

statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles west of

Yankton SD to 25 miles east southeast of Storm Lake IA. For a

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
