The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Northeast New Mexico

  Oklahoma Panhandle

  Texas Panhandle



* Effective this Saturday night and Sunday morning from 730 PM

  until 100 AM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2

    inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Initially, an isolated supercell moving southeastward

between Kim and Campo, Colorado will move into the western Oklahoma

Panhandle. Other development may occur across northeast New Mexico

and/or across other parts of southeast Colorado this evening via an

upscale-growing cluster of storms.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40

statute miles north and south of a line from 50 miles west southwest

of Clayton NM to 25 miles south southeast of Elkhart KS. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
