The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Central and Southwest Iowa

  Northeast Kansas

  Northwest Missouri

  Southeast Nebraska



* Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 505 PM until

  1100 PM CDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Widespread large hail likely with isolated very large hail

    events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

  A tornado or two possible



SUMMARY...Thunderstorms are forming over southeast Nebraska and

northeast Kansas along a cold front.  These storms will spread

northeastward across the watch this evening, posing a threat of

large hail and damaging winds.  An isolated tornado or two is also

possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles east and west of a line from 60 miles north of Des

Moines IA to 20 miles south southeast of Manhattan KS. For a

tornadoes.
