The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Tornado Watch for portions of

  Parts of central and eastern North Carolina

  Northeastern South Carolina

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Friday morning from 305 AM until 900 AM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  A couple tornadoes possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Broken bands of storms will spread northeastward into

central/eastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina

through the morning.  The storm environment will be favorable for a

continued risk for embedded rotating storms and line segments

capable of producing a couple of tornadoes and damaging gusts.



The tornado watch area is approximately along and 75 statute miles

east and west of a line from 35 miles northeast of Raleigh NC to 25

miles east southeast of Myrtle Beach SC. For a complete depiction of

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...



REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for

tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch

area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for

threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements

and possible warnings.

OTHER WATCH INFORMATION...This tornado watch replaces tornado

watch number 194. Watch number 194 will not be in effect after

305 AM EDT.



AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail

surface and aloft to 0.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind

gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 400. Mean

storm motion vector 21040.
