The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a



* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of

  Southern North Carolina

  Central and eastern South Carolina

  Coastal Waters



* Effective this Sunday night and Monday morning from 705 PM

  until 100 AM EDT.



* Primary threats include...

  Isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible

  Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible



SUMMARY...Multiple storms will continue eastward within a moderately

unstable and moderately sheared environment. A couple of small but

more organized clusters could eventually evolve and spread toward

coastal South Carolina and coastal southern North Carolina.

Localized wind damage and some severe hail will be possible.



The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60

statute miles north and south of a line from 10 miles south

southwest of Columbia SC to 50 miles east of Myrtle Beach SC. For a

favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.

Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening

weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible

warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce

tornadoes.
